WHIPPENDELL WOODS nr Watford, HERTS

Mixed woodland with many interesting finds in the past including a tiny, brightly coloured gilled bracket Cinnabar oysterling (Crepidotus cinnabarinus), and the beautiful Magpie inkcap (Coprinopsis picacea), a speciality of Home Counties alkaline woodland.  Meet in the car park on the north side of the woods (along Grove Mill Lane, off Hempstead Road), Grid ref: TQ 080982.
